Ziean's Internet Quilt

This is a wonderful quilt made by some of my friends from the internet. Back when I first announced my daughter Carol was having a baby, they had gotten together and decided to make the baby and I a sampler quilt.

The blocks were made by JenQuilts, Bzy^, SewSo, Sissy2, Tyquilts, SuzyQuilts4U, Jackie77, LindyLoo, Solias, Humblequilter and Dihardquilter. The blocks were sent to JenQuilts who put the top together. It was then sent to Solias, who quilted the top and added bindings. By the time the quilt was finished and sent to Oregon, some of the blocks had traveled back and forth across the country and Canada.

It was finally sent to my friend Heart and told not to give it to me until the baby was born. I was told that although the quilt was for Ziean, it was to stay at "Grandma's house" for when he came to visit. Which didn't exactly work out as planned, as I got it a little early. But I'm glad I did because I was then able to take it to the hospital with me. It was a great comfort to me though all those long hours waiting for Ziean to appear.

I can not express the feeling of love I felt when I opened the quilt for the first time, I just sat with tears in my eyes petting it. With all the negative stuff that goes on about the net this in my opinion was very positive. Thank you all very much from both Me and Ziean. We will treasure the wonderful quilt for many years. And who is to know that maybe Ziean, Grandma and the next generation will be able to enjoy it as well. Huggs to you all.

And here is the quilt getting it's first use by Grandma and Ziean. Pretty snuggly, huh. This picture was taken about a half hour after Ziean made his entrance into the world... after keeping us all up all night! As you can see he was bright eyed and bushy tailed. Grandma, on the other hand, was running on excitement alone. To get a better look at Grandma and Ziean, click on the image to get a full size picture of them.
