About 20 miles south of Gold Beach you'll cross Thomas Creek Bridge, the highest bridge in Oregon. Then you'll drop down a hill to Whaleshead State Park. Go up a long hill and drop down to Lone Ranch State Park. Go over a small rise and Rainbow Rock Condominiums are on the far side on your right. We're at the top of the next rise. South Coast Lumber Mill is on your left. Turn right onto Dawson Road on the ocean side of the highway across from the mill. If you come to Harris Beach State or downtown Brookings, you've gone too far.
Cross the bridge over the Chetco River and drive through downtown Brookings. Just to the north you go up a small rise. Harris Beach State Park is on the left and the State Information Center is on the right. We're the second road on the left after Harris Beach. South Coast Lumber will be on your right. Turn left onto Dawson Road. If you come to Rainbow Rock Condominiums, you've gone too far. Dawson Road is on the ocean side of the highway across from the mill.
When you turn onto Dawson Road, you'll go up a small 'S' curve. Take it slow on this corner. Dawson then heads straight towards the ocean until you come to a 'T'. Turn right onto Holmes Drive, a narrow one lane paved road. It runs north straight and flat for about 100 yards, then goes down a small hill. We're just at the bottom in the second house on the left. Turn in at the small parking lot by a large ornamental tree. The cottage is right in front of you and our front door is to your right on the far side of the garage. The Pacific Suite is to the north through the sunken garden and around to the front of the house.
If we're expecting you, there will probably be a key in the door. You can knock on the front door, or the nautical museum door to the right of the cottage door. Jack is getting hard of hearing, so don't be shy when you knock.
