The Gold Beach Airport (4S1) is located at the beach at the mouth of the beautiful Rogue River, arguably the most scenic airport to fly into in Oregon. Traffic pattern is out over the ocean. It is left traffic runway 34, and right traffic runway 16. Pattern altitude is 800 feet. Unicom is 122.8. Runway is 3200' x 75', and paved. Runway is in excellent condition. Fuel available is Chevron 100LL, and JetA. Recommended entrance procedures are on an extended downwind, or on a 45 degree entry into the downwind. Cross midfield at 2,000' or above. Gold Beach now has an AWOS up and running. 118.15 by radio - 541-247-2518 land line. The airport is managed by the Port of Gold Beach. Terminal and fuel hours are self-service 24/7. Tie downs are available. Emergency on-call service is available outside of normal business hours. There is a $20.00 surcharge for after hour fuel calls. A Port owned rental car is available. Gold Beach does have some summer fog and low stratus, but we have less fog (and more VFR flying days) than any other airport on the North Pacific coast. |
