Sunday Bible Study 9:45am
In our morning Bible Study time, we follow a curriculum for the adults
designed to give you a complete Bible education. Over a period of about 10
years, every book of the bible is studied in depth, as well as many related
subjects, such as Bible Geography, Evidences, etc.
The children and young people have classes upstairs divided among their age
groups.
The Lord's Supper:
The Lord's Supper is vital; it is the very center of our worship. Without
the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus, we could not be saved. Each
Lord's Day we gather around His table in remembrance of Jesus Christ and the
price He paid for our salvation, for a time of self-examination and
commitment to Him.
Preaching:
The preaching is Bible-based, so bring your Bible with you. The evening
preaching service usually has more time allotted for singing.
Other classes, activities, and opportunities for service, fellowship, and spititual growth.
New Christians Class:
Realizing how cruical those first weeks and
months as a Christian are, we use a 10 lesson course called "On To Perfection"
to give each member a solid foundation upon which to build his spiritual
life. This class also gives the new Christian the opportunity to ask
questions in a small group setting and share concerns and goals if he so
chooses. The goal of these as with all our classes, is not just to know what
we believe, but why. Only then can you develop your own personal Bible-based
convictions. This class is usually taught on Wednesday evening.
Ladies Bible Studies:
A Tuesday evening class especially
for ladies is conducted the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. This class is conducted from
October through May.
Secret Sisters:
This is an enjoyable and uplifting
experience of giving and receiving that promotes fellowship and harmony among
the ladies. It is climaxed with a “revealing banquet” in January or February.
Vacation Bible School:
Instead of a concentrated
week-long V.B.S., we incorporate it into our summertime Wednesday evening
youth classes. It closes with a special program by our young people on a
Sunday evening in September.
Annual Coos Bay Family Camp (Second full week of
August):
The Coos Bay church owns
approximately 60 wooded acres up Coos
River where we have our Family
Camp each summer. It begins Monday evening and closes at noon on Friday. It is semi-primitive camp where each
family brings their own tent, trailer, or motorhome,
and provides their own meals. There is a shelter for the preaching
assemblies, and a shower building with hot showers. 125-150 Christians from several
states come each year for a week of excellent preaching (13 messages),
singing, and fellowship. There is no fee. It is supported by freewill
offerings. That week has always been a high point
of the year for us.
Youth Camps:
We do not have the facilities for
our own youth camp, but many of our young people have attended Bible camps in
Oregon and Northern
California.
Evangelistic meetings:
Periodically, we have an
evangelistic meeting, inviting an evangelist to come and speak nightly for a
week or two to assist in our outreach to the unsaved in our community.
Church Library:
The church has a small library of
books, cassette tapes, videos and other resources. We are in the process of
organizing and enlarging it so it will be more useful.
