WHO WE ARE The South
Coast and Lower Rogue Watershed Councils are located
in Curry County, on the southern Oregon coast adjacent to California.
This area of the Oregon coast features incredible diversity: there are
five wild and scenic rivers as well as three wilderness areas; several
hundred miles of streams and rivers; dozens of rare plants and animals,
and a multitude of other attractions. The nationally famous Rogue River
flows through the middle of the county, offering boaters and anglers
unparalleled opportunities for recreation. The Lower Rogue Watershed Council covers all lands and waters that drain into the Rogue and Illinois Rivers within Curry County. The South
Coast Watershed Council serves as the "umbrella"
group for all of the smaller watersheds in the county: Floras Creek;
Elk/Sixes River; Port Orford; Euchre Creek; Hunter Creek/ Pistol River;
Chetco River; and Winchuck River.
