LITTLE LIGHTI was created long ago
on a high point of land
Crafted so carefully
mostly by hand
Finally I was finished
to my builders delight
I was kind of short
not an impressive sight
Then came my keepers
to turn on my light
And to wind up my lens
so I could shine in the night
I was ever so happy
with my red and white light
That guided men at sea
through the dark of the night
After years of guiding ships
so safely at sea
An auto light was installed
they no longer needed me
So I was closed down
and left so alone
No longer cared for
my keepers all gone
After years of loneliness
came a horrible fright
The vandals arrived
from out of the night
They spun my lenses
'til one finally broke
Although it hurt me
to them it was a joke
People would look at me
not realizing my fears
my windows were wet
from rain and my tears
Suddenly came a group
who became my good friends
they devised a great plan
to make me beautiful again
My friends worked so hard
to end my plight
Even made a gift shop
to help in their fight
My friends have made me happy
I want to shout out loud
I still may be short
but again I stand proud
Now people come from everywhere
enjoying my lovely sight
My friends tell my story
much to everyone's delight
My friends made a video
depicting my life, 'Now and Then'
It tells how life once looked
through my beautiful lens
So shine on auto light
with your powerful glow
