Along with trying to establish the nursery in a new location, I am also trying to get my first web page up and
running. The year 2000 promises to be a very busy year. Since the nursery was fairly inactive for the last season I am very eager to be open full time.
I wish to thank all of my gardening friends and customers
for their encouragement and support in the last year.
Your thoughts and good wishes meant a great deal to me.
Spring is here and so once again is Sweet Annie's The new location will be easier
for all of you to find. The location is on the corner of highway 101 and First St. in Langlois, Oregon. If you have been to Langlois, you know that the town is not real large, so you shouldn't have a problem. For those who haven't been here before, look for the gray house with the white. picket fence.
Some things will be new, some old, and some not finished, but isn't that the way of life? I will try to have some
new varieties of plants for the garden and many of the old, tried and true. While the theme gardens will not be completed, (remember I'm only one person) some will be under way and you can always find me in the gardens.
Once again, Swap Day will be on Thursdays. Everyone seemed to enjoy the fun of exchanging plants. I know
I did. Never will forget the speckled lima bean. Didn't grow for me, but it was the thought that counted. For those who have not heard about Swap Day, every Thursday, you can bring in two small plants, of your choice, and swap them for two small (4") plants of mine. We all have extra plants now and then and it's fun to share them.
The new greenhouse is finished and I started right in trying to fill it up. January has been filled with getting
cuttings going and working on new display gardens. Wish I could have started in the last fall. OH well... One of the first herbs I concentrated on was the Rosemarys. I have taken cuttings of 13 varieties. There are nine upright, and four prostate varieties. As with many of you, I have been browsing the new gardening catalogs. I have at least three new Rosemarys on my 'must have' list. If there is a new variety that you would like, but are unable to find, contact me, I will see if I can help.
The International Herb Association
has selected
Rosemary
as the 2000 Herb of the Year.
Since this is my first endeavor at putting together a web page, I would love to hear from you. There is a lot
planned for the future of the nursery and this web page is just one of the projects.
From one gardener to another - Happy Spring,
Annie
P.S. With all the seedlings wanting to be potted, all I've had time to
do is post new pictures. Hope you enjoy them. |
